Our Mission and Approach

Acted US is dedicated to advancing innovative and impactful humanitarian and development solutions worldwide. Guided by a strong commitment to solidarity, neutrality, and effectiveness, Acted US works where needs are greatest and where access is most constrained, ensuring that no one is left behind. We operate on the first mile of humanitarian action, prioritising life-saving assistance and the restoration of dignity for communities facing acute crises and protracted vulnerabilities.

Our mission is to save lives and support people in meeting their essential needs in the most challenging environments. Acted US designs and implements integrated programmes that respond to immediate humanitarian needs while addressing the root causes of vulnerability. Our interventions focus on populations affected by conflict, climate-related shocks, natural disasters, and socio-economic hardship, with a deliberate emphasis on those most at risk of exclusion.

Beyond emergency response, Acted US adopts a forward-looking approach that bridges humanitarian action and sustainable development. We seek to strengthen resilience, restore livelihoods, and support pathways toward inclusive growth and social cohesion. By combining rapid response with longer-term perspectives, Acted US contributes to sustainable solutions that empower individuals and communities to rebuild their futures, adapt to change, and participate actively in their own development.

Millions of vulnerable people around the world need humanitarian assistance today, and hundreds of millions will need it tomorrow, in the face of the growing threat of climate change. Our vision is guided by the motto “Think Local – Act Global” – reflecting the need to rely on a deep understanding of local territories and contexts to develop and implement actions based on local knowledge, structures and capacities. This local thinking contributes to a global response – running through all Acted programming and operations – as we work together towards the building of a 3ZERO world: a world with Zero Exclusion, Zero Carbon, and Zero Poverty.
